MIL-P-46067B(MR)
3.2.1 Additional property values. When specified by the procuring activity, the contractor shall supply data for shrinkage, dielectric strength, dielectric constant, and volume resistivity of the bulk material supplied to the Government.
3.3 Suitability of resin. The epoxy embedding compound shall be suitable for application and use on electronic assemblies and individual parts. It shall preserve the electrical properties of the equipment to which it is applied by sealing against such environmental conditions as moisture, dirt, fumes, fungus, or other deleterious substances which may be encountered in the military services. It shall be capable of mechanically supporting the part or embedded assembly and shall not require a case or other external support after curing has been completed, though a potting container may be used. It shall not cause deterioration of materials used in electronic assemblies and parts.
3.4 Pot life. The compound shall have a pot life long enough so as to produce uniform castings, free of bubbles and cracks that may affect serviceability. The manufacturer shall furnish instructions on proper mixing of components. When required, the procuring activity shall specify minimum pot life (6.2).
3.5 Workmanship. The epoxy embedding compound shall be a clean homogeneous mixture free from lumps and foreign material. The diluents and fillers shall be thoroughly dispersed in the compound, as determined by visual examination. For compositions 2 and 3, if required, slight stirring may be used to return the material to the homogeneous thoroughly dispersed condition.
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
